Announcing our first Collaborative Bowl- The Aokai Bowl, Brought to you by Nalu Health Bar + Sally and Tina Cohen

Nalu Health Bar is excited to announce the first collaborative bowl ever!

It couldn’t be more fitting for Nalu to team up with Aokai Swim because Nalu means “Wave” in Hawaiian while Ao means “Blue” in Japanese, and Kai means “Ocean” in Hawaiian. Further fitting, this bowl will only be available at our Haleiwa location on the North Shore of Oahu- where Tina and Sally Cohen, owners of Aokai Swim, were born and raised.

“Our mission and motivation is to not only create swimwear to make us and others feel confident, but also not to forget what drives us most: the love for our blue ocean. A way we can keep the ocean more blue is by creating sustainable swim wear!” Sally tells us.

They are so excited to grow their company and hope to become a leading sustainable swim brand, while maintaining a balance of surfing and family life.

“It’s a true at-home small local sustainable business. Everything is ran out of my home at pipeline. And we do our best to be good to the planet / ocean while still striving to be cute and comfortable!” Tina tells us.

We are excited to announce this new ocean themed bowl, which will only be available for the month of December in Haleiwa and celebrates the launch of their new swimwear collection. Each line they have designed is inspired and most pieces are named after their friends.

“Our goal is to create something that we would love to wear and love to see our friends wear!” Sally says.

Make sure to check out their eco-friendly, locally designed swim line when it releases this month!

Now onto the details of the Aokai bowl!

We will be offering two versions of this bowl- one with granola and one with almonds as a substitute for granola to make a gluten-free option for Tina who is GF! So what’s in this limited edition NS bowl? The base is our signature açaí blend- winner of BEST OF HONOLULU for 2023. One style of Aokai bowl is topped with granola, followed by a second layer of blueberries, coconut, bee pollen, and sliced pineapple- to resemble a top down view of the beach. Our gluten-free option is the same in all ways, except a layer of sliced almonds is in place of the granola underneath and on top of the açaí. As usual, we will offer the bowls in three sizes and there will be a surcharge for the almond substitution.

We hope to all see you in our Haleiwa location to celebrate and taste this new bowl ONLY for the month of December!
